"I am a qualified scientist in the field of ecology and I have been in academia for the last 18 years. Recently, I resigned from the world of secular science and academic institutions, mainly because I could not live a half truth or separate my spiritual reality from my physical reality anymore. In this new season I plan to share more of my testimony and what God has taught me during the last 7 years in order to show you that we are not suppose to separate our faith from our work or thinking or any other aspect of our lives as it is all integrated.
Most of us have had some sort of experience with Christianity, even if it was from a distance. Many have even been deeply hurt in churches or by people calling themselves Christians. Therefore, most of us have a certain perception about Christianity, what it means and what and who it involves. I am here to show you that most of what you think following Jesus and true Christianity is all about is probably not true or only partly true.
I say this with confidence as I grew up in a traditional Christian family that went to church regularly. However, these watered down, religious, Sunday rituals during my childhood eventually led me to renounce Jesus in my early twenties as the Christian "religion" seemed empty and meaningless compared to the philosophies and truths presented by the world and by science.
It was not until a reborn Christian pastor and ex-satanist prayed for me 15 years later (7 years ago) in a way that nobody ever did before that something deep inside me changed and I came to true repentance. The veil that blinded me for most of my life lifted and the reality and truth of Jesus Christ hit me like a ton of bricks. After this, God led me to a couple of supernatural encounters with the spiritual world that shook and challenged everything I thought I knew about the logic of science and our "observable" 4D world. I then started from scratch and opened my mind and heart to Jesus, reset my thinking and re-evaluated everything I thought was true. With the Baramin School I will attempt to share what I discovered during this journey with you."
Dr. Yolanda Pretorius (March 2022)
At the Baramin School we see the Bible as the inspired Word of God and the only source of absolute truth on this earth. It serves as the foundation with which we compare other sources. The reason for this will become more clear as you work through our teachings (also see the section on Authenticity of the Bible below). However, we, as authors of this site, do not pretend to know everything or to be faultless with what we teach as we are only human.
For now [in this time of imperfection] we see in a mirror dimly [a blurred reflection, a riddle, an enigma], but then [when the time of perfection comes we will see reality] face to face. Now I know in part [just in fragments], but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known [by God]. - 1Corinthians 13:12 (Amplified Bible)
The resources we provide in this site was put together from our own experience and research from sources we filtered through with guidance from the Holy Spirit and measured against what the Bible says.
We encourage you to do your own research as well, to check the facts presented on this site and to be guided by the Holy Spirit to discern fact from fiction. This should become easier when you are in an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Your number one source and measure of truth should always be the Bible. We believe the King James Version of the Bible is the closest translation to the original but we encourage you to lookup meanings of words and phrases in the original languages and other translations to get a more complete revelation and understanding.
The Bible is the most amazing and popular book ever compiled and after reading the section below we hope that you will realise just how awesome it is. The Bible consists of 66 books penned by 40 authors in 3 ancient languages (Hebrew, Aramic and Greek) over 1500 years.
The last book of the first part, known as the Old Testament (O.T.), was finished about 330 years before the birth of Jesus Christ. The first five of the 39 books of the O.T are also the foundations of the Jewish faith (called 'Torah') and is thought to be mainly written by Moses.
The second part of the Bible, the New Testament (N.T.), focuses on Jesus’ life and the early Christian Church. It was finished around AD90. The structure of the Bible that we have today was finalised around AD400 although it was more than a thousand years before it was available to ordinary men and women in English.
Some people see the O.T. as history which is only relevant to the nation of Israel. However, the truth is that it is one inseparable, integrated unit because many of the prophecies that are concealed in the O.T. are revealed in the N.T. Jesus fulfilled at least 300 prophecies from the O.T. during His earthly ministry. Moreover, the N.T. accepts the O.T. as authentic, quoting it from more than 320 different passages.
The Bible is unique among ancient literature in the smallness of the timescale between when it was first written and when the oldest extant manuscript was discovered.
There are many aspects of the Bible that shows that it has been put together by an extraterrestrial and supernatural entity, namely, the Holy Spirit (the people who wrote the Bible were all inspired and led by the Holy Spirit whilst writing it). When you first accept Jesus and you are reborn, a specific chapter in the Bible might have a certain meaning to you (it provides insight and nourishes you with spiritual food).
However, as you grow in your walk with Jesus you can go back to that same chapter many times and it will most likely offer you a complete different and new revelation that is relevant to your level of growth and understanding. This process of revelation and fresh heavenly "manna" (food) is endless. You can ask any scholar that has dedicated their lives (some as much as 50 years) studying the Bible and they will tell you that they still receive new revelation from text they have read more than a 100 times.
“The Scriptures are shallow enough for a babe to come and drink without fear of drowning and deep enough for a theologian to swim in without ever touching the bottom"
St. Jerome: Patron Saint of Librarians (400 CE)
16 All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; 17 so that the man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work."
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (Amplified Bible)
Some more evidence of the supernatural nature of the Bible include the following:
A prophecy about the coming of Jesus which is hidden in the names of Noah's bloodline.
2. Modern scientific facts that seemed improbable at the time the scriptures were written.
"As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured"
Jeremiah 33:22 (KJV)
Before the telescope was invented, astronomers like Johann Kepler numbered the stars at slightly over one thousand. It was not until many years later that man realized that numbering the stars is an impossibility.
"He stretch out the north over the empty place, and hang the earth upon nothing."
Job 26:7 (KJV)
The book of Job is probably the oldest book in the Bible and Job himself was the original author (Job 19:23,24). Job must have lived around the time of Abraham as the book of Job nowhere mentions the Mosaic laws or even the children of Israel.
In the verse above (Job 26:7), Job acknowledges that earth is not supported by or rests upon something else. This is an unique insight as most other people in ancient times believed otherwise. For example, some believed that the earth was sitting on the back of a turtle and that that the turtle was standing on a serpent whilst others believed the world was flat, surrounded by a dome from which the stars were hanging on strings.
It was only after Isaac Newton first published the Universal Law of Gravitation 2000 years later in AD 1687 that people's viewpoints started to change.
"As for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire." Job 28:5 (KJV)
Only when man dug deeper into the earth during the early 20th Century and experienced rising temperatures and combined this phenomenon with seismologists’ analysis of earthly waves, was it suggested that the inner parts of our planet were at least partly molten. In other words, hot enough to turn rock and metal into liquid.
3. There are numerous non-random number patterns and sequences in the original Hebrew and Greek text of the Bible that even super computers will struggle to generate today.
Dr. Ivan Panin was born in Russia in 1855. He studied in Germany and at Harvard University and in 1882, after graduation, he converted from agnosticism to Christianity.
From 1890 to 1942 (the year he passed away) he discovered some of the phenomenal mathematical designs underlying both the Greek text of the New Testament and the Hebrew text of the Old Testament. Below is an example of one of the patterns Dr. Panin discovered in the first verse of the Bible.
Notice that the middle word of Genesis 1:1 has no translation. It is made up of the Aleph and the Tav, the first and last words of the Hebrew alphabet. This is significant because, in Revelation 1:8, Jesus says “I am the Aleph and Tav, the beginning and the ending, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty”. Even though Jesus probably spoke in Hebrew to John as they were both Jews, most English Bible translations use the Greek translation of “Alpha and Omega”.
The number of Hebrew words in Genesis 1:1 = 7.
The number of letters = 28 (7 x 4).
The first three (of seven) Hebrew words translated “in the beginning God created” contain 14 letters (7 x 2).
The last four (of seven) Hebrew words translated “the heavens and the earth” have 14 letters (7 x 2).
The fourth and fifth words added have 7 letters.
The sixth and seventh words added have 7 letters.
The three key words (God, heaven, and earth) have 14 letters.
The number of letters in the remaining four words is also 14.
The shortest word in the verse happens to sit in the middle of the verse.
The Hebrew numeric value of the first, middle (2 letters), and last letters is 133 (7 x 19).
The Hebrew numeric value of the first and last letters of all seven words is 1393 (7 x 199).
According to Asec (2012), Professors at Harvard University attempted to disprove this numerical find as proof of divine authorship by trying to duplicate the phenomenon using the English language and arbitrary number assignment to each letter of the English alphabet. Although they had 400,000 English words to their disposal compared to the 4,500 in biblical Hebrew, they were not able to duplicate the phenomenon of 30 mathematical multiples of seven as found in Genesis 1:1.
